Oman’s CPA arrests expat workers for selling furniture made from waste material

The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) in South Al Batinah Governorate (Barka) has arrested expatriate workers for illegally manufacturing and selling furniture.

MUSCAT : The workers were found to be using waste wood and old sponges to create furniture, which they then sold as new products.

According to the CPA, all the substandard furniture was confiscated and will be destroyed. The expatriate workers were also fined RO 1,000 for the violation.
