Oman’s CPA imposes RO 2000 fine against commercial establishment for manipulating expiry dates

The Consumer Protection Authority’s (CPA) department in Barka, South Batinah Governorate, has cracked down on a commercial establishment attempting to sell expired spices.

Muscat – The Authority’s officials apprehended expatriate workers manipulating the expiry dates on spice products. The entire stock of tampered spices was confiscated and will be destroyed.
The establishment was fined RO 2,000 for the violation, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the involved workers.
