Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority has taken decisive action against two commercial establishments operating in the furniture and window detailing sector following multiple complaints from consumers.

The Rustaq Consumer Protection Department received grievances from customers who had engaged these establishments for various home improvement projects, only to be left disappointed by the non-completion of the agreed-upon tasks.

As a result of these complaints, the authority conducted a thorough investigation, which led to a judgment against the accused establishments.

Firstly, the accused establishments have been ordered to pay fines totalling RO 700. Additionally, they are required to return RO 2400 to one consumer and repair and maintain windows and doors for another consumer’s home, along with a fine of RO 500.
