PSM Ramadan cricket tournament kicked off with a bang in Oman

The much-awaited Ramadan Tape Ball Cricket Tournament kicked off on Friday.

Muscat: Four teams fought for honours in front of a large crowd, with families enjoying Pakistani food and exciting matches.

The Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Chancery of the Pakistan Embassy, Bilal Hasan, inaugurated the tournament by cutting the ribbon along with the Chairmen, PSM Ameer Hanza, board members, and Pakistan Embassy Officers.

The first match was played between Hadi X1 and the SK 1010 team, which Sarah Khan managed.

Batting first, SK X1 scored a good total of 76 runs for 6 weeks, with Noman and Zahoor scoring 14 runs each.

Safeer of Hadi X1 took 4 wickets for just 9 runs in 2 overs to destroy SK’s batting line-up. Chasing 76 runs, Hadi X1 batters Muhhamd Kamran and Kamran Ali scored 23 and 22 runs in just 7 balls each to clinch the victory by 6 weeks.

The 2nd match was played between the Pakistani Embassy and PSM teams.

PSM won the toss and batted first, scoring 128 runs in the allotted 8 overs. Danish Riaz was the best batter, scoring 55 runs in 15 balls with 6×6 and 3x4s. Muhammad Amir remained unbeaten with 19 runs.

Irfan of the Pakistani Embassy bowled superbly, taking 3 wickets for 26 runs in 2 overs.

Chasing a huge total of 129, the Pakistani Embassy was restricted to 97 runs. Raheef and Nadeem scored 20 & 22 runs, respectively. Rasil of PSM got 2 wickets for 8 runs, and PSM won the match.

A huge holiday crowd watched the match along with tasty Pakistani delicacies.
