Muscat Municipality launches competition to develop Darsait area

Muscat Municipality is inviting creative students from the University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) to partake in a competition to develop the area surrounding the Darsait wadi trail

Muscat – The competition, open exclusively to students of the Civil and Architectural Engineering Division at the UTAS (Muscat Branch) is limited to the defined route of the wadi to the end of Darsait Park without any changes to the existing infrastructure.

Interested participants – individuals or groups with a maximum of 4 students – need to register for the competition between March 13 and 16. The deadline for submitting designs has been set for March 30.
The competition invites participants to propose innovative designs for the development of the area surrounding the Darsait wadi trail. Participants are tasked with creating designs that beautify the surroundings, manage the wadi’s water flow, and incorporate urban elements while maintaining the existing infrastructure.

The design should provide beautification of the area, manage the wadi water, and add urban elements. It should propose innovative solutions that reflect modern technologies and demonstrate creativity of the participants.

Besides, it must be implementable on the ground and be cost effective.

Entries must be submitted on A1 size boards in PDF format, adhering to competition guidelines.
