Ministry of Economy hosts workshop to enhance project selection for Budget 2025 development initiatives

Muscat: During the workshop, Dr. Nasser Rashid Al Ma’awali, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, emphasized the imperative of fostering seamless coordination between the Ministry of Economy and other governmental units. Dr Al Ma’awali highlighted the ministry’s commitment to optimizing development expenditure, ensuring maximal economic and social returns on investment across diverse projects.

Key discussions during the workshop centred around elucidating the guidelines for drafting the development budget for 2025 and introducing a novel electronic system to streamline the budget design process. A comprehensive display focusing on Budget 2025 underscored the ministry’s capability to collaborate effectively with pertinent authorities, facilitating the accurate estimation of development spending ceilings for the upcoming fiscal year.

Furthermore, specialists from the “Government Projects Management and Follow-up Office” at the Tender Board provided insightful briefings on budget project implementation plans, emphasizing the integration of local content and adherence to national priorities outlined in Oman Vision 2040, the National Strategy for Urban Development, and the strategic programs of the 10th Five-Year Plan.
