MUSCAT : H.E. Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Main Committee of the Book Fair, presided over the concluding event.

Over the span of 10 days, the event attracted thousands of book enthusiasts, including families who engaged in seminars and discussions. A total of 394,172 visitors attended the Fair, which featured around 130 events catering to various age groups, including children who were catered to with illustrated stories and interactive activities.
Addressing guests at the concluding ceremony, Ahmed bin Saud Al Rawahi, Director of 2024 Muscat Book Fair, said, “Al Dhahirah was the guest of honour of the exhibition for this session, providing a qualitative addition to the exhibition’s programs and activities, and North Sharqiyah Governorate will be the guest of honor of the exhibition in its twenty-ninth session, which will be held from April 23 to May 2, 2025.”
The Fair also promoted the National Reading Programme, aiming to enhance students’ linguistic abilities and promote critical thinking. Over 15,000 students are set to benefit from the initiative in its first season.
Media institutions that covered the fair and its cultural events were recognized for their contributions. Notably, 847 publishing houses from 34 countries participated, offering a total of 622,000 titles, including 19,000 Omani books. The Ministry of Information showcased its pavilion, featuring various media platforms and artistic endeavours.
