Oman weather: Indirect effects of Cyclone Kyarr to begin today, says PACA

Tropical cyclone Kyarr has developed into a category four cyclone and it is currently about 1,010 km away from Oman’s coast.

MUSCAT:Oman’s meteorology department has warned that the indirect effects of Cyclone Kyarr will begin from Sunday.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the Public Authority for Civil Aviation (PACA) said: “The indirect effects of cyclone Cyclone Kyarr is likely to start today (Sunday) with rising sea waves on the coast of the Sultanate overlooking the Arabian Sea reaching a height of 3 to 5 meters with the possibility of sporadic clouds (high and medium) from Monday evening.”

Tropical cyclone Kyarr has developed into a category four cyclone and it is currently about 1,010 km away from Oman’s coast.

The cyclone Kyarr over Eastern ArabianSea has intensified into a Tropical cyclone (Category 4) with estimated wind speed around its center of (115-125) knots. It tracks west/ northwestward toward central Arabian Sea and the nearest point Ras Madrakah in Oman.
