Muscat – Eng. Nasser bin Saif Al-Muqbali, CEO of Minerals Development Oman, and Tariq bin Mohammed Al-Barwani, CEO of Mawarid Mining Company, officially sealed a strategic partnership. The agreement focuses on processing and intensifying the production of copper ore extracted from the northern concession areas.
Under the terms of the agreement, Minerals Development Oman will entrust the processing and condensation of its copper ore to the state-of-the-art copper ore condensation unit situated in the Wadi Al-Jizzi area, within the state of Sohar, owned by Mawarid Mining Company.
Eng. Nasser bin Saif Al-Muqbali, CEO of Minerals Development Oman, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “This agreement represents a new stage in the strategic partnership process with Mawarid Mining Company. It will work to elevate the efficiency of the mining sector in the Sultanate of Oman, contributing to the exploitation and development of infrastructure and facilities specialized in processing and condensing copper ore.”

Echoing this sentiment, Tariq bin Mohammed Al-Barwani, CEO of Mawarid Mining Company, emphasized the partnership’s significance in setting a model for integrating the public and private sectors within the mining domain. The aim is to manage and develop value chains, positioning the copper industry among the distinguished sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
