Oman’s Sohar Industrial City soars with 55 new investment applications in 2023

Muscat – Among these, 45 projects are slated for localization, spanning expansive areas exceeding 461,000 square meters. The city’s Director General, Engineer Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Mayasi, shared pivotal developments, highlighting the plastic industries complex “Ladain,” which secured five agreements, propelling investments to approximately RO 22 million. With seven projects underway across 80,000 square meters, the complex is set to employ about 200 workers in its initial stage.

Al-Mayasi emphasized the significant progress in completing Sohar Industrial City’s seventh phase development project, reaching an impressive 98.6 per cent completion rate. This milestone includes a comprehensive 32-kilometre road network adorned with lighting poles, a robust drinking water network, sewage facilities, and a wastewater treatment plant boasting a 2,000-cubic-meter capacity. The development also encompasses a rain drainage network, a flood protection wall, and an irrigation network alongside two water supply tanks with a combined capacity of 2,700 cubic meters.

Highlighting the city’s commitment to investor convenience, the “Masar” service centre stands out as a streamlined investment hub, offering a unified system. This centre facilitates and simplifies procedures for investors to efficiently acquire all necessary approvals, permits, and licenses within a specific timeframe. Madayn’s overarching aim is to establish an integrated services system, creating an attractive business environment and fostering added value for investments in the Sultanate of Oman.
