MUSCAT : The ceremony, held in Muscat Governorate and graced by Basil bin Ahmed Al Rawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Sports and Youth, coincided with World Cinema Day, marking a meaningful celebration of budding cinematic talent.

Among nine compelling entries, five outstanding short films clinched top honours in the competition. While the first-place winner’s title was withheld, ” Uncertainty ” secured second place,” followed by “Fikra Space” in third place. “Best One” claimed the fourth spot, and “Dr. Heba” took the fifth position.

Additionally, the jury acknowledged the commendable effort of “Box” with an incentive award.

Abdullah bin Habib Al Muaini, Chairman of the Jury, highlighted the thematic focus of the Tawasul Short Film Award’s first cycle in 2023. Emphasizing balanced dialogue and future skills, the competition aimed to foster spaces for real and virtual dialogue while promoting the expression of ideas and opinions. The evaluation process centered on various criteria, including the fundamental idea, artistic expression, and the qualitative essence of the dialogue portrayed in the films.
