MUSCAT: With an aim to engage with customers and to create awareness about Renault vehicles’ remarkable fuel economy, Renault Oman, from the house of Suhail Bahwan Automobiles, organised a never before ‘Mileage Rally’ from Muscat to Salalah for its customers recently.

The aim of the rally was to engage with customers and provide a platform for Renault owners to get together to experience the comfortable drive and superior mileage of the vehicles.
A number of vehicle owners of Renault Talisman, Renault Megane and Renault Koleos took part in the rally which was flagged off from Renault Qurum showroom in Muscat.

The rally, starting from Muscat took the route via Adam, Haima, Thumrait route and arrived at the final destination of Salalah. This drive of more than 2400 kms, was meant to test the reliability, comfort and fuel efficiency of Renault cars in every way during this long journey.
Customers were very excited about the whole event and participated with full enthusiasm, enjoying every bit of the drive and putting their driving skills to test in saving fuel. The objective was clear – achieve maximum fuel efficiency and be the winner of the rally.

After reaching Salalah, all the customers were checked-in the beautiful resort of Salalah – The Rotana, Salalah. Next day, the Winners of the ‘Mileage Rally’ were declared basis the best fuel efficiency achieved in the respective category of vehicles.

Renault Megane clocked 17.2 km per litre, Renault Talisman recorded a mileage of 15.2 km per litre and Renault Koleos clocked 13 km per litre.
Delighting customers – a Renault initiative
Mubarak Al Nabhani, one of the participants, who was declared a winner, said: “It was a pleasure to experience the comfort offered by Renault vehicles. I was able to control the fuel consumption by optimising the eco-system and limiting my speed to less than 130km/hour.” Mr. Mahmood, who achieved the highest mileage in Megane category, mentioned that maintaining a constant speed of approx.120 km/hr did the magic for him.
Another happy Renault Koleos owner, Nasser, who has been driving Renault cars for the past three years, said, “The vehicle is very comfortable, has superb fuel efficiency and safe driving options. It is easy and hassle-free to maintain. It is a perfect family car.”
Mr. Ali Al Ajmi topped the Talisman category with 15.1 km/litre. Mr. Ankush & Mr. Jonathan achieved 13km/litre with their Koleos.
All the customers were very happy with the drive of the car, the mileage achieved and the overall experience with their vehicles while participating in the rally.

First of its kind mileage rally
Commenting on the ‘Mileage Rally’, a senior official of Renault Oman said, “We thank owners of Renault vehicles for participating in this rally and showing confidence in the Renault brand. The Muscat to Salalah ‘mileage rally’ is something no car company has done before in Oman.”
“It was an opportunity for Renault customers to experience the features and capabilities of their vehicles during the non-stop 1,200 km drive to Salalah and back. Renault vehicles are known for their fuel efficiency and this was a platform to witness its performance real-time. Renault owners who participated in the rally spoke highly of the value of the vehicles,” he added.

The drive was packed with learning and engagement opportunities for eager Renault owners who utilised the chance to better understand the vehicle, its fuel efficiency and safety features.
The presence of Renault vehicles on the road was ably supported by world-class mobile service facilities, equipped with the state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and trained staff who fulfil Renault’s promise of customer first.
