GAZA : At least 198 people were killed and 1,610 wounded in Gaza following Israeli strikes on the enclave, the Palestinian Health Ministry announced on Saturday.
According to Reuters, at least 100 Israelis were killed and hundreds wounded in the Hamas attack, but the total is expected to rise, making it the deadliest attack in Israel in years. Meanwhile, around 50 Israeli were taken as hostages by Hamas militants, media reports said.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel ‘is at war’ with Palestinian militant group Hamas after barrages of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel on Saturday.
