Muscat: In a tragic incident, five Indians were killed after their fishing vessel sank off the coast of Oman during tropical storm Hikka, the Embassy of India has informed on Monday.
According to a statement issued by the embassy, the fishing vessel was hit by Hikka while it had still been a cyclone.
“In an unfortunate incident, a fishing vessel was impacted by the cyclone off the coast of Oman, leading to the loss of the lives of all crew members.According to available information, the crew included five Indian nationals,” the statement added.

According to the embassy, the bodies of three of the five Indians have been found. The embassy is coordinating with Omani authorities and is in touch with family members.”
