MUSCAT : Several road users have taken to social media to vent out their frustration as the daily commute is proving to be a long haul, more so since the road connects key highways/streets in the city.

With the reopening of schools and with early office hours for others, the alternate single lane towards Wadi Adai, which is opened during the morning peak hours, is not sufficient to meet the demands of daily commuters.

Muscat Municipality, in coordination with the Royal Oman Police, had completely closed Al Jabal Street for motorists coming from Amerat towards Bausher for a period of four months, starting from Saturday, September 16.

Following the closure, it is a daily hassle for motorists who are stuck in traffic for hours to reach their destination; many have used social media platforms to urge the Municipality to find a speedy resolution to the congestion problem.
