Muscat: The decision sets criteria to develop integrated facilities for inspection and provides handling and storage services in accordance with the best international safety and quality standards in force, while enhancing Oman’s competitiveness as a global logistics hub.

According to the decision, the Oman Logistics Center of the Ministry is responsible for organizing the establishment and operation of integrated logistics stations for inspection and clearance, and final approval is required from the Center before establishing any logistics station for inspection and clearance.

The management of integrated logistics stations for inspection and clearance applies to all goods entering the same controls and procedures stipulated in the applicable laws, executive regulations and ministerial decisions regarding inspection, control and customs clearance procedures.

The decision clarified that the general requirements in the integrated logistics stations for inspection and clearance include the establishment of offices for the employees of the registration authorities and their supplies, and equipped and licensed laboratories to examine goods of all kinds. This is in addition to a platform equipped to inspect the largest number of trucks or containers at one time, and warehouses according to the specifications of the goods and other requirements.
