MUSCAT – The Department of Surgery (Pediatric Surgery) at the Rustaq Hospital, in cooperation with the Departments of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics, conducted a first-of-its-kind surgery. The surgery involved reconnecting the inner intestine and blocking the intestinal opening of a child weighing only about 4 kilograms, while providing intravenous nutrition. The surgery was crowned a success.
