KOCHI : In an attempt to help people affected with kidney ailments, the Sulekha Moosa Foundation (SMF) — a charitable organisation in collaboration with Thanal has opened a dialysis centre in Marakadavu in Kochi in Kerala.

The centre has been established to provide renal purification procedures for needy patients. “There is an increasing number of kidney patients in West Kochi. The dialysis process has become financially burdensome due to its prolonged treatment duration and exorbitant costs. with the need for treatment accessibility for common patients, makes the expenses of treatment beyond their reach. This was the reason why we decided to setup this initiative,” said Mohamed Ameen, Founder of SMF and Managing Director of Oman-based SeaPride LLC.

“The centre will lend a helping hand to individuals in our area facing such challenges,” Ameen added.

The centre was inaugurated on August 23, 2023, by Hibi Eden, India’s Member of Parliament from Kochi.
