KUWAIT CITY : Starting from September 1, 2023, all expatriates residing in Kuwait are mandated to clear their water and electricity bills before leaving the country.

According to reports, expatriates will be banned from leaving the country without clearing their utility dues. The announcement comes in less than a week after the Ministry of Interior, which ordered that expatriate workers must clear all outstanding traffic fines before leaving Kuwait. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy said expat workers can pay their utility dues through the “mew-pay” online platform or at the customer service office at the T-4 terminal of Kuwait International Airport.
