Oman’s inflation rate falls to 0.41%

Muscat: As per the data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information, Oman’s annual inflation has been on the decline owing to government measures concerning fuel and essential commodity prices.

Data reveals that consumer price inflation for food items grew to 1.36% in July, compared to 2.18% in June. Prices for fruits and vegetables decreased by 2.31% in July, while those of cooking oil and fats rose 5.03% in July; bread and cereal prices grew by 2.24%; meat prices fell by 0.6%, and prices of fish and seafood products increased by 1.57% in July.

Milk, cheese and eggs group recorded the biggest rise of 10% in July prices.
