MUSCAT: The government has plans to introduce advanced passenger screening facilities at Oman Airports, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications has informed on Thursday, according to a report in Oman Observer.
“We’re keen to introduce advance technologies at the Sultanate’s airports. Features such as facial recognition and eye scanning will be implemented on certain inbound flights as a pilot project,” Oman Observer quoted the minister as saying.
The Minister also informed that the old Muscat airport will be developed into a major tourism hub.
