Muscat: The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) stated that the two establishments, dealing in furniture work, failed to provide the agreed furniture, within the stipulated period to the two consumers.
The establishments did not abide by the contract concluded between them and the consumers and failed to provide satisfactory service.
The two consumers lodged complaints that were referred to the competent authorities who issued their judgment convicting the first institution of a misdemeanor of non-compliance with providing the service properly and in accordance with the nature assigned to it. It ruled to punish each of them with a fine of OMR 100, with an order to stop the implementation of the penalty if the work is handed over to the consumers within two months from the date of pronouncing the verdict.
It also ruled to convict the second institution of a misdemeanor of not providing the service properly and not guaranteeing it within a period of time commensurate with it. It decided to fine each one of them with a fine of OMR 100 obligated them to jointly refund an amount of OMR 1157 to the victims.
