Muscat – The Municipality has initiated an expanded cleaning campaign through which it seeks to inspect sites where waste, bushes, and random backfilling abound. The Municipality is appealing to the community to cooperate with its efforts to throw waste in the designated places so that it does not become a burden on workers transporting and managing waste, and also does not pose a health threat to residential neighborhoods.

The campaign, which was launched from the Al Manumah area in the Wilayat of Seeb, resulted in the removal of various piles of waste, especially the waste of trees and bushes that abounded in residential neighborhoods – behind houses or between the pathways adjacent to them, in addition to cleaning alleys, wadi crossings and drainage channels from weeds, and pruning trees. The ongoing campaign has so far resulted in clearing more than 300 tons of waste.

In a related aspect, the Municipality has developed an integrated program for the success of the campaign, as it harnessed the energies and capabilities through field work teams and equipment of various kinds.
