MUSCAT – Eid Al Adha holidays turned tragic for six people, including four members of an Indian expat family, who died in a horrific car crash on the Muscat-Salalah route on Tuesday.
According to sources, the car lost control and hit another vehicle before catching fire. The two people in the second car also died in the accident that happened in Maqshan, some 200 kilometres away from Wilayat Thamrait in Dhofar Governorate.
The victims include a girl and a woman from Mumbai. The deceased have been identified as Shahid Ibrahim Sayid (48), wife Tasnim Shahid Sayid (48), son Zeeshan Ali Shahid Sayid (25), and daughter Mehrin Sayid (17).

Sources informed that Shahid was working as a supervisor in a private firm in Muscat, while his son Zeeshan was working as a sales executive in a company in Barka. Mehrin had recently completed her Class 12 at Indian School Darsait. The two people in the second car were Yemeni citizens.
