The proposed programme aims to supply wholesale electricity markets, industrial consumers and data centres, including through round-the-clock renewable power solutions.
O-GREEN will contribute project development and technical expertise, while Samruk-Energy will facilitate engagement with relevant subsidiaries, authorities, the grid operator and potential customers in Kazakhstan. In other markets, the partners will jointly engage the relevant authorities, grid operators, offtakers and local partners, and will work together to enable project execution and financing.
The partnership will also create opportunities to export clean energy expertise and capabilities from Oman to international markets, while supporting the Sultanate’s wider ambitions for a net-zero future.
“Reliable clean power is essential to industrial competitiveness and the growth of AI infrastructure. With Samruk-Energy, we aim to combine renewable generation and storage with the needs of electricity customers, creating opportunities for investment in Kazakhstan and the wider region,” said Mustafa Al Hinai, the CEO of O-GREEN.
“Kazakhstan has significant potential for further renewable energy development, and we see growing opportunities in Central Asia and other international markets. The focus must be on projects that are technically sound, commercially viable and aligned with the needs of the power systems they serve.” said Aidarov Ansar Aidaruly, Chief Investment Officer of Samruk-Energy JSC.
