MUSCAT — Police in Muscat have arrested a man suspected of involvement in more than 60 online fraud cases involving offers for goods, services and rental properties, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said on Wednesday.
The suspect, a national of an Arab country, allegedly used bank accounts and telephone numbers belonging to other people of the same nationality to carry out the fraud, ROP said in a statement.
He advertised goods, services and properties for rent through social media with the aim of taking money paid by victims, the statement said.
