MUSCAT : The ministry explained that it conducts workplace inspection visits to monitor compliance with the provisions of the Labour Law and address violations in accordance with established legal procedures.

It pointed out that an inspection may be initiated following a report submitted to the ministry, as part of follow-up action on a previously recorded violation, or through a scheduled periodic inspection.

When an inspection follows a previous violation, the visit is intended to verify whether the employer has taken the required corrective measures and brought the situation into compliance with the law.

The ministry said periodic inspections are conducted according to scheduled programmes as part of its ongoing efforts to monitor compliance with labour regulations.

Inspection visits are aimed at identifying violations, ensuring that corrective measures are implemented where necessary and maintaining compliance with the provisions of Oman’s Labour Law.
