Riyadh: The UAE sealed qualification for the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup football tournament “Gulf 27” after defeating defending champions Bahrain 3-0 at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
Othman Kamara opened the scoring for the UAE in the 30th minute, before Guilherme Bala doubled the advantage in the 66th minute. Ali Saleh completed the victory with a third goal in the 88th minute.
The result took the UAE to six points at the top of Group B, ahead of Qatar on goal difference.

Qatar had already secured their place in the semi-finals earlier after recording a 1-0 victory over Yemen.
The latest results confirmed the elimination of both Bahrain and Yemen from the tournament, bringing Bahrain’s title defence to an early end after their second-round defeat.
