MUSCAT : The draw ceremony for the championship was held at the headquarters of the Omani Association for Arts, alongside the technical meeting for participating teams.
Organised by the Women’s Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth in cooperation with the Omani Bowling Committee, the championship will be managed by five referees.
The tournament will begin with the team qualifying competitions on September 20 and 21, followed by the singles competition on September 22 and 23. The doubles competition will be held on September 27 and 28, while the Masters competition is scheduled for September 29.

The championship will conclude on September 30 with the team final and the official crowning ceremony.
Khawla bint Rashid Al-Rawahi, Director of the Women’s Sports Department at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, said the tournament reaching its 18th edition reflects the continued focus on developing women’s sports in Oman.
She said the participation of 26 teams from 22 institutions and 156 female players demonstrates the growing interest in the championship and the expansion of women’s participation in sporting activities.
Al-Rawahi noted that sport represents an important avenue for empowering women professionally and socially, while also promoting physical activity as a means of reducing workplace pressure and improving quality of life, as well as mental and physical wellbeing.
She added that this year’s championship will see the participation of several new institutions and teams alongside organisations that have consistently taken part in previous editions, helping strengthen competition and offering participants further opportunities to develop their sporting experience.
Al-Rawahi also stressed the importance of fair competition and sportsmanship, expressing hope that the championship would witness strong technical performances and continue to achieve its objectives of supporting women’s sports and providing an encouraging sporting environment for Omani women.
