Several vessels disabled in northern Gulf and Gulf of Oman, UKMTO reports

Several merchant vessels have been disabled amid continuing military activity in the northern Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported.

MUSCAT : The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported that several merchant vessels have been disabled following attacks linked to ongoing military activity in the Gulf region.

In an advisory, UKMTO said it had received reports involving “several merchant vessels” in the northern Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.

“Reports indicate the vessels were subject to disabling fire as part of ongoing military activity in the region,” UKMTO said.

The maritime security agency said it was unable to confirm whether there had been any casualties or environmental impact from the incidents.
