Manama: Oman, represented by the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution, participated in the 23rd meeting of the heads of financial and accounting audit institutions and offices of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Sultanate’s delegation was headed by His Excellency Sheikh Ghosn bin Hilal Al-Alawi, Chairman of the State Financial and Administrative Audit Institution.
The meeting discussed several items on its agenda, including preparations for the seventh session of the GCC competition for research and studies in the field of control and accounting.

Participants also reviewed a report on the outcome of a study examining recommendations contained in the winning research papers from the sixth edition of the competition.
The meeting was also briefed on the GCC General Secretariat’s report covering training programmes implemented during 2025 and 2026, as well as activities planned by financial and accounting audit institutions across the GCC during Gulf Financial and Accounting Audit Week.
