MUSCAT : The data showed that active postpaid mobile subscriptions rose by 6.8 percent to 1,326,014, while active prepaid mobile subscriptions declined by 2.6 percent to 5,394,199.

Subscriptions to Internet of Things (IoT) services increased by 9.3 percent to 1,715,207 by the end of July 2026.

In fixed internet services, fibre-optic subscriptions for homes and businesses grew by 6.4 percent to 366,686.

Meanwhile, fixed 5G subscriptions declined by 3.6 percent to 209,796, while fixed 4G subscriptions fell by 69.1 percent to 5,333.

Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) subscriptions decreased by 21.4 percent to 8,677. Satellite subscriptions recorded the strongest growth among fixed internet technologies, rising by 148.1 percent to 1,871.

The total number of active fixed-line telephone subscriptions increased by 0.5 percent to 441,306 by the end of July 2026.

International internet bandwidth capacity also rose by 31.8 percent to 5,382,003 megabits per second by the end of July 2026.
