Oman, Rwanda explore investment opportunities in mining, renewable energy and logistics

SALALAH: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Rwandan President Paul Kagame held official talks at Al Hosn Palace in Salalah on Monday, as the two countries looked to deepen economic and investment ties.

The discussions focused on opportunities for cooperation and investment in mining, renewable energy, food security, ports, land transport, logistics and healthcare, according to Oman TV.

The talks were aimed at strengthening investment links between Oman and Rwanda and identifying areas where businesses and institutions from the two countries could expand cooperation.

The meeting followed an official reception ceremony for Kagame at Al Hosn Palace, where the Rwandan national anthem was played and a 21-gun salute was fired in his honour.

Kagame is in Oman for a two-day official visit and was received earlier on Monday at the Private Airport in Salalah by HH Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
