MUSCAT: Oman’s national hockey team will travel to Japan on Monday for the final phase of its preparations for the 20th Asian Games, Aichi-Nagoya 2026, which will be held from September 19 to October 4.

The national side will be based in Kakamigahara City, where it will continue an intensive training programme aimed at improving technical and physical readiness, strengthening team cohesion and fine-tuning tactical plans ahead of the continental event.

As part of the Japan camp, Oman will play a series of friendly matches against the Japanese national team. The fixtures will give the coaching staff an opportunity to assess the squad under competitive conditions and make final tactical adjustments before the Asian Games.

The delegation will be led by Majid Said Mohammed Al Hooti, with Khalil Al Balushi serving as National Teams Manager. Mohammed Hoobais Al Shar is the head coach, assisted by Salah Nasser Ahmed Al-Saadi.

The support staff also includes goalkeeping coach Ghassan Al Hasani, performance analyst Wagdi Hassan Sanjor Bait Mabrook, strength and conditioning coach Salem Al Mazroui, and physiotherapist Abdullah Al Nawfali.
