Oman social protection system covers 1.56 million beneficiaries, 1.06 million expat workers

Oman’s Social Protection Fund recorded over 1.56 million beneficiaries and more than 1.06 million insured expatriate workers as of July 2026.

MUSCAT : According to the latest statistical indicators released by the Social Protection Fund, more than 1.56 million people benefited from Oman’s social protection programmes through July 2026, while over 145,000 pensions were disbursed during the period.

The fund also recorded more than 628,000 active Omani insured individuals across all insurance schemes, alongside more than 1.061 million active non-Omani insured individuals.

The Childhood Benefit accounted for the largest number of beneficiaries, reaching 1,256,950, followed by the Elderly Benefit with 171,127 beneficiaries.

The Persons with Disabilities Benefit covered 53,874 beneficiaries, while the Orphans and Widows Benefit reached 15,656 beneficiaries.

Under the Social Insurance Branches, more than 145,000 pensions were actively disbursed through July 2026.

Retirement pensions for living beneficiaries totalled 98,308, while 47,643 death pensions were recorded, covering 101,477 eligible beneficiaries.

The Job Security Allowance accounted for 2,675 beneficiaries during the period.
