Oman, Tajikistan discuss expanding cooperation across key sectors

Oman and Tajikistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation across various sectors during high-level talks in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.

Dushanbe: His Excellency Qohir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, received His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al Harthy, Undersecretary of Oman’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, during his visit to participate in the meeting of the Political Consultative Committee between the Sultanate of Oman and Tajikistan.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations and discussed opportunities to enhance and develop cooperation in a range of fields.

H.E. Sheikh Khalifa conveyed the greetings of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to the Tajik Prime Minister and expressed Oman’s appreciation for Tajikistan’s decision to open an embassy in Muscat.

He noted that the move represents an important step towards supporting bilateral relations and strengthening communication and cooperation between the two countries.

Prime Minister Rasulzoda, for his part, expressed his government’s appreciation for Oman’s role and standing, while stressing Tajikistan’s interest in deepening cooperation with the Sultanate and exploring new areas that could strengthen the bilateral partnership and broaden its scope.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sharifzoda Farrukh Hamidin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan; His Excellency Zubaydullo Zubaydov, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Oman; and a number of officials from the foreign ministries of both countries.
