Oman private bank deposits rise 12.45% to RO 19.37 billion

The total value of private deposits with commercial banks in Oman rose by 12.45 percent at the end of June 2026, reaching RO 19.3687 billion, compared with RO 17.1349 billion during the same period in 2025.

Muscat: According to the monthly statistical bulletin issued by the Central Bank of Oman, term deposits stood at RO 5.2159 billion, while savings deposits reached RO 6.5367 billion. Demand deposits amounted to RO 7.2835 billion.

The bulletin showed that deposits denominated in Omani riyals totalled RO 16.5981 billion, while foreign currency deposits stood at RO 2.6706 billion.

At the end of June 2026, the ratio of total cash and clearing to deposits in Omani riyals stood at 7 percent, while the ratio of total cash and clearing to total deposits was 5.6 percent.

The ratio of total loans to deposits reached 102.9 percent.

Foreign currency deposits accounted for 18.9 percent of total deposits, while the ratio of foreign assets to total loans stood at 15.4 percent. Foreign assets represented 12.5 percent of total assets, while foreign liabilities accounted for 10.9 percent of total liabilities.

Meanwhile, private demand deposits represented 39 percent of total private deposits.

The ratio of capital and reserves to total deposits stood at 21.1 percent, while provisions and retained interest accounted for around 5.5 percent of total credit.
