MUSCAT : Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Al Busaidi will travel to Tehran on Tuesday for talks with senior Iranian officials on bilateral relations and regional developments, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Al Busaidi would meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi as part of continuing political consultations between the two countries.

The discussions are expected to include developments concerning the Strait of Hormuz, the strategic waterway bordered by Oman and Iran that serves as a critical route for global energy supplies.

“This trip is in line with strengthening Iran-Oman bilateral cooperation and continuing sustained political consultations between the two sides as littoral states of the Strait of Hormuz, to help bolster peace and stability in the region,” Baghaei said, according to Iran’s state news agency IRNA.
