MUSCAT : The authority has approved 22 accredited service providers to facilitate integration ahead of the mandatory Phase 1 onboarding deadline on April 1, 2027, for large taxpayers with annual revenues exceeding RO 5 million.
Al Rashdi said the pilot phase began in August and will continue until October, allowing the authority and participating taxpayers to assess the system, resolve technical issues and ensure security measures are in place before the national rollout.
The second rollout will cover companies with revenues below RO 5 million, which will be required to onboard the electronic invoicing system from October 1, 2027.
Al Rashdi said the Fawtara project is designed to transform how invoices are issued, transferred and stored in Oman, with electronic invoicing becoming mandatory under the amended legislation.
The accredited 22 electronic invoicing service providers will connect taxpayers’ billing and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems with the Tax Authority’s electronic invoicing platform.
Taxpayers will be required to work with accredited service providers to integrate their existing billing and ERP systems with the new system, Al Rashdi said.
Information on the 22 accredited service providers is available through the Tax Authority’s official website, enabling taxpayers to identify approved providers and begin preparations for their respective onboarding phases.
