Oman records 56 mm rainfall in Al Hamra as rain hits several wilayats

Al Hamra recorded the highest rainfall in Oman on August 8, receiving 56 mm, according to rainfall data issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources.

MUSCAT: The ministry’s bulletin showed rainfall across several wilayats, with Yanqul recording the second-highest total at 38 mm, followed by Jabal Akhdar at 23 mm, Bahla at 22 mm and Salalah at 20 mm.

Other notable rainfall totals included Al Mudhaibi (13 mm), Ibri (12 mm), Rakhyut (11 mm), Taqah (8 mm), Al Qabil (7 mm), Mirbat (7 mm), Mahdha (6 mm) and Dalkhut (6 mm).

Rainfall of 5 mm was recorded in Bidiya, Ibra and Al Rustaq, while Sinaw received 4 mm. Nizwa and Samail each recorded 3 mm, and Adam and Thumrait recorded 2 mm each.

The ministry reported 1 mm of rainfall in Al Buraimi, Saham, Dank, Sohar and Izki.
