BANGKOK : The Oman Volleyball Association showcased the success of the national volleyball team during a joint meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, attended by representatives of continental and international sports organisations.
The meeting reviewed Oman’s journey in developing volleyball, particularly the national team’s historic title win at the West Asian Championship.
Representatives from the international and Asian volleyball federations praised the achievement, saying it reflects the steady progress of the sport in Oman and the success of the technical plans and development programmes implemented by the Oman Volleyball Association.

Officials described the championship title as an important milestone for Omani volleyball, strengthening the Sultanate’s growing presence at both regional and continental levels.
During the meeting, Oman’s experience was highlighted as a model in technical planning, preparation and national team development. Participants also praised the association’s efforts in preparing players to compete successfully at major tournaments.
The achievement was further linked to the positive impact of the International Volleyball Federation’s “Volleyball Empowerment” programme, which supports national federations in strengthening their technical and administrative capabilities.
