MUSCAT: The vessel was officially named during a ceremony held at Wuzhou Shipyard in China, marking another milestone in Asyad Shipping’s fleet modernisation strategy focused on safe, reliable and sustainable maritime transportation.

As MT Manah enters service, it will play a key role in transporting Omani methanol to global destinations, further enhancing Oman’s position as a regional maritime and logistics hub.

With a carrying capacity of 13,800 tonnes, the tanker is equipped with a suite of environmentally advanced technologies designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce emissions. These include a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, an Exhaust Gas Cleaning System (EGCS) to lower sulphur oxide (SO₂) emissions, a Pre-Swirl Duct to enhance fuel efficiency, and a Waste Heat Recovery System that captures exhaust heat to generate steam and improve energy efficiency.

Asyad Shipping said the addition of MT Manah reflects its continued commitment to building a future-ready fleet that meets evolving international environmental standards while delivering sustainable shipping solutions.

The company described the vessel as another step in supporting Oman’s growing role in global maritime trade and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding a modern fleet capable of serving international energy and chemical markets.
