Al Hamra records highest rainfall at 28 mm as showers lash several governorates of Oman

Several governorates across Oman received varying amounts of rainfall between August 2 and August 3, with Al Hamra recording the highest precipitation at 28 mm.

MUSCAT: According to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources Salalah received 25 mm of rain, followed by Wadi Bani Khalid with 19 mm, Al Rustaq with 12 mm, and Dima W’attayeen with 10 mm.


Moderate rainfall was also recorded in Sinaw (8 mm), Al Jabal Al Akhdar (6 mm), Ibra (6 mm) and Al Mudhaibi (5 mm).


Lower rainfall totals were reported in Ibri, Sur, Izki, Rakhyut and Taqah, each receiving 3mm, while Sohar, Dalkkut, Al Jazer and Mirbat recorded 2mm each.


Bahla, Al Qabil and Al Kamil W’al Wafi registered the lowest rainfall during the reporting period, with 1 mm each.
