MUSCAT: The latest data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed that the number of guests staying at 3- to 5-star hotels in Oman reached 992,009 by the end of June 2026, recording a decrease of 13 percent compared with 1,140,086 guests during the same period in 2025.

The data also showed that total revenues generated by these hotels declined by 12.3 percent to reach RO 124.177 million, compared with RO 141.520 million recorded during the first half of 2025.

The occupancy rate at classified hotels also decreased to 46.3 percent, compared with 54.6 percent during the same period last year, representing a decline of 15.3 percent.

Despite the overall decline in guest numbers, the number of Omani guests increased during the period, reaching 395,659, compared with 383,783 guests in the first half of 2025.

Among international visitors, European guests accounted for the largest share of non-Omani hotel guests during the first six months of 2026, with 246,603 guests recorded.

Asian guests ranked second with 162,978 guests, followed by visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries with 69,289 guests.

The data also showed that the number of guests from other Arab countries reached 41,090, while American guests totalled 30,546. Guests from Oceania reached 9,644, and African guests numbered 6,969 during the period.
