MUSCAT : According to data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), the rise was driven mainly by growth in sales contracts, with their traded value increasing by 12.2 percent to RO688 million by the end of June 2026, compared with RO613 million during the same period last year.
The number of sales contracts also increased by 6.9 percent, reaching 34,017 contracts, compared with 31,831 contracts in the first half of 2025.
Mortgage contracts recorded a marginal decline in traded value, falling by 0.3 percent to RO740.2 million, compared with RO742.2 million during the same period last year. However, the number of mortgage contracts increased significantly by 25.7 percent, reaching 13,383 contracts, compared with 10,647 contracts.
The traded value of swap contracts rose by 20.3 percent to RO5.8 million, compared with RO4.8 million in the corresponding period of 2025. However, the number of swap contracts declined by 39.3 percent, standing at 362 contracts compared with 596 contracts last year.
Meanwhile, the number of issued property ownership documents decreased by 8 percent to 101,700 ownerships, compared with 110,551 ownerships during the same period in 2025.
Ownership documents issued to citizens of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries also declined by 22.4 percent, reaching 541 ownerships, compared with 697 ownerships recorded during the same period last year.
