MUSCAT – The vessel’s first call at the terminal, with a capacity of 18,000 standard containers, highlights the facility’s readiness to handle the latest generation of mega container ships through its modern infrastructure, deep-water berths and advanced operational capabilities.
The arrival of the CMA CGM Vasco de Gama underscores Asyad Container Terminal’s ability to provide efficient and safe container handling services while supporting the growing demands of the global shipping industry.
Omar bin Mahmoud Al Mahrizi, CEO of Asyad Ports and Freezones, said the vessel’s arrival reflects the terminal’s advanced operational capabilities and the growing confidence of international shipping companies in Oman’s logistics sector.
He added that with increasing cargo volumes and industrial investments in Duqm, the terminal is focused on delivering world-class services and strengthening Duqm’s position as a strategic gateway linking regional and global markets.
