The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates “Madayn”, in cooperation with Oman Environmental Services Holding Company “be’ah”, organised a workshop on ‘Industrial Waste Management’ to promote industrial waste recycling, explore best practices and solutions that create promising investment opportunities, generate economic value, enhance resource efficiency and reinforce innovation in sustainable waste management solutions.

Bringing together experts, specialists and investors from the industrial sector, the workshop highlighted best practices and investment opportunities in industrial waste management. The workshop reflects the shared commitment of Madayn and be’ah to advancing sustainable development in the Sultanate and strengthening public-private partnerships.

Through this workshop, Madayn and be’ah aim to enhance the management and handling of industrial waste in line with national efforts for environment protection and sustainable development. The workshop also aims at regulating and developing mechanisms for managing industrial and hazardous waste generated from industrial activities within Madayn’s industrial cities.

Moreover, the workshop comes as part of the cooperation programme signed between Madayn and be’ah, which aims to develop an integrated waste management system across the industrial cities in line with approved environmental standards. The programme is also designed to increase recycling rates, reduce waste sent to landfills, enhance environmental compliance among industrial units, ensure adherence to regulations and legislations, and reduce carbon emissions through the implementation of innovative solutions, including material and energy recovery from waste. This cooperation programme represents a significant step towards supporting the circular economy and contributing to the sustainable development goals, particularly amid the growing global environmental challenges
