Amman: In a security statement issued on social media, the embassy urged US citizens to follow the instructions of Jordanian authorities and stay away from the affected transport hubs until further notice.
“We strongly advise all Americans to refrain travelling to either the airport or seaport,” the embassy said, adding that US citizens should “continue to follow all Jordanian authorities’ security directives.”
The advisory also renewed the embassy’s warning for Americans to avoid travel to military bases in Jordan, amid rising regional tensions.

The warning comes as the United States said it had completed an eighth consecutive night of attacks against Iran. The announcement followed reports that two US military personnel were killed in Jordan and another remains missing after an Iranian attack.
