MUSCAT: In a disclosure to the Muscat Stock Exchange, dated July 16, the insurer said it had continued its investigation with the assistance of external legal counsel and specialist digital forensic experts following its earlier disclosure on July 7.
“While the investigation remains ongoing, we have now identified indicators suggesting that the claims made online are credible, and we want to make the market aware of these developments at the earliest opportunity in the interests of transparency,” the company stated in its disclosure.
The company said the forensic investigation remains a priority and has not yet established whether any personal data or other confidential information was accessed or exfiltrated during the incident.
Arabia Falcon Insurance stressed that it currently has no evidence that any financial data has been compromised or that any customers have suffered harm as a result of the incident.
The insurer said it acted immediately to contain the incident and successfully restored its systems using viable backups, enabling it to avoid any operational disruption.
The company added that its 24/7 endpoint detection and response systems have not reported any further suspicious activity since the containment measures were implemented.
