MUSCAT – The sector has implemented a package of measures, including the installation of 29 new communication stations to expand coverage across various locations, as well as 13 additional stations along Sultan Said bin Taimur Road to provide continuous connectivity for road users.
The upgrades also included converting 40 stations to 5G technology to improve data and communication services, increasing the capacity of 58 transmission links to enhance network speed and stability, and upgrading transmission lines at 30 stations to boost network efficiency.
To support areas expected to experience high visitor numbers during the season, 38 mobile communication stations were deployed to strengthen coverage and meet increased demand for telecom services.

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said the measures reflect the sector’s commitment to improving service readiness during major tourist seasons, meeting users’ needs and providing a stable and secure communication experience across Dhofar Governorate.
